“It gives me great pleasure to highly recommend the Excelsior Trombone Ensemble. Last February, Excelsior played a concert at St. Bartholomew's Church and honored me with an invitation to join with them playing various works for trombone quartet and organ. The experience was thrilling for me. This is a group of four virtuoso musicians with a highly developed sense of ensemble, impeccable intonation and refined musicality. The rehearsal process was challenging but effortless with a wonderful feeling of collegiality. This was professional music making at its highest level. I look forward to my association with them in the future.”

Director of Music and Organist

“Thank you so much for the educational and musical experience at Maple Ave Middle School on March 5th. Our students and faculty were very impressed with your expertise and performing ability. The students have mentioned how much they enjoyed the clinic and especially being part of the low brass ensemble. I am also grateful for the tips and suggestions on breathing and technique that will improve our sound in band. Thank you again for your professionalism and willingness to make this day happen.”

I was very fortunate to attend a recital by the Excelsior Trombone Ensemble in October. My first impression upon hearing them was of exquisite musicianship, beautiful sonorities, flawless intonation and a finely nuanced chamber music performance. Excelsior plays with such a variety of timbres that only by opening your eyes will you realize that the musicians are playing trombones! It was a most inspiring and memorable performance. I look forward to hearing you again, and soon!

“As a music educator, I am constantly looking for professional musicians to perform and talk with my students about their experiences. It is very important for students of all ages to listen to top notch professionals in order to emulate that level of excellence. The “Excelsior Trombone Quartet” did a wonderful job of demonstrating to my students the highest performance standards I could ask for while entertaining them at the same time. The program they performed included a wide variety of musical styles and they communicated well with the students about how they became the outstanding musicians they are today. The students who attended this performance were extremely impressed with the ensemble and I hope to have them perform in our school again. I would highly recommend this group to instrumental students of all ages.”
- Marty Griffin, Monroe High School, New Jersey

I'm not a musician but I
can recognize when my students are interested and engaged in an assembly
program. The Excelsior Trombone Ensemble provides an entertaining musical
experience that is professional in quality, educational in it's content, and
appealing to the elementary students' sense of humor and attention span. The
ensemble members speak to the students at their level and make the most of the
trombone's visual impact. The expression on the children's faces said it all to
me.

Dear Excelsior Trombone Ensemble,
Thanks so much for all your efforts with our kids today. I know a lot went into the preparation for this because my students are so young, and I just want you to know how much I appreciate it. Everyone here was so excited about your master class and assembly and all the brass students were totally inspired. Your time spent with the students at South Seneca far exceeded our expectations. Not only does your group play incredibly well, you relate so well to the young students. My principal, Mrs. Couture told me that it was just awe inspiring to see our kids standing next to you professionals and playing their little hearts out. Please know that you and your group have changed some lives today. Thanks so much for coming and for caring so well for our kids.
Becky Davis,
Band Teacher, South Seneca Elementary School

I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a musical assembly/performance of the Excelsior Trombone Ensemble at out Plank Road North Elementary School on October 30th . Not only was I impressed with the level of musical professionalism of the ensemble, but more so, I was impressed with the group’s ability to fashion their performance and assembly presentation to the level of the students. It was a truly enjoyable and educational experience for everyone in attendance...
...It was great to see children in the audience enjoy the assembly. You must have a sense of pride when you see the children moving to the rhyme of the music and pretending that they are playing the trombone. It is also important to realize, particularly in today's tough economic times, that music is an essential part of a well-rounded education. Your performance at the assembly helped prove that point. Thank you for coming to Webster. I certainly hope you will have the opportunity to visit Webster again. At a recent Webster Board of Education meeting, I mentioned how impressed I was with the ensemble’s performance.
